At Little Pinecone Preschool, our forest kindergarten program is a cornerstone of our unique educational approach. Three times a week, our children embark on exploratory walks to the nearby Cornwall Park, engaging directly with the natural world in ways that inspire curiosity, foster resilience, and cultivate an appreciation for our environment.

As they explore the diverse ecosystems of Cornwall Park, our little learners develop essential skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, and environmental stewardship.

Guided by skilled kaiako (teachers) who are passionate about outdoor learning, our children enjoy a curriculum that seamlessly integrates the wonders of the natural world with the educational goals of our program. These regular excursions not only enhance physical health and motor skills but also enrich the children’s understanding of sustainability and their role in a bi-cultural Aotearoa.
